POSITION SUMMARY
Provides custodial duties to ensure a clean and safe working environment
for the employees, children and families.
DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Maintains
building interiors by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and
fixtures; washing windows, countertops, walls, ceilings and woodwork; sweeping,
scrubbing and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming window treatments,
furniture and carpets.
2.
Maintains
restroom supplies including notifying supervisor of necessary orders.
3.
Replaces all
light bulbs and notifies supervisor of necessary orders.
4.
Removes trash
from all areas of building to outside dumpster.
5.
Maintains all
cleaning equipment in operational condition; notifies supervisor of any issues
with equipment.
6.
Maintains supply
and equipment inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies
and notifying supervisor of necessary orders.
7.
Monitors
building environment including potential safety hazards, health issues,
heating, cooling, lighting or other mechanical operations and resolves or
reports to supervisor any issues that arise.
8.
Maintains
building accessibility and appearance by picking up any trash impeding entrance
to the building, removing snow and ice from walkways near building entrances
and checking and replacing as needed all exit lights.
9.
Maintains
building safety by securing all doors and windows and reporting any
unauthorized persons in the building.
10. Ensures a safe environment by complying with agency
and governmental safety rules and precautions, including all required
procedures for bodily fluid cleanup.
11. Submits accurate and complete time sheets to
supervisor bi-weekly or as requested.
12. Promotes
Lake-Geauga United Head Start, Inc. in the community and recruits children for
the program as appropriate.
13. Encourages in-kind donations through regular
communication or reminders to parents and communication with the community.
14. Attends trainings and meetings as required by program
calendar, supervisor or Fiscal Officer, or professional development plan or as
required by state or federal law.
15. Other duties as assigned.
16. Mandatory participation in self-assessment if
selected.

WORKING CONDITIONS
General
working conditions of a school setting with some outdoor assignments. Tasks may involve unplanned or procedure
specific exposure to bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable
diseases. Risk involved with using
chemicals regularly, climbing ladders or moving heavy objects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Clean criminal background supported by
background check (fingerprints)
3. Eligible to work in the
4. Completed first aid,
communicable disease and CPR courses, or ability to complete courses.
